This was a student-choreographed piece to the song “God Must Hate Me” by Catie Turner. The piece explores how one views themself and expressing that frustration towards a higher power. The choreographer of this piece wanted to place focus on the LGBTQ+ community and the hardships many endure in relation to the song. Working with the choreographer, I was able to capture this feeling through fabric that was attached around dancers’ wrists as a way to show their restraint versus the lone dancer who has fabric flowing behind them as they were able to break free from this cycle.
