Constructing the Costumes

When constructing this show, I had less than a month to pull, purchase, build, alter, as well as hold fittings for all actors. There were 34 total roles within this show, with a total of 16 actors. Many costume pieces such as pants, shoes, tights, and undershirts were borrowed from actors and even my own wardrobe.

Original thumbnail sketches were loved by the director and design team, so very little changes had to be made to base costumes. Due to there being so many roles in the show with several actors potraying more than one, colors were used to show status and connection.

The role of Anne was played by a swing during all performances. By making some minor adjustments to the costumes and working with the director, I was able to continue using all the same costume pieces.

Throughout the process…

Separating all costume pieces by actor and every role they played.

Progress of distressing Margaret’s dress done by setting makeup.
